Xena is truly a top percentage dog. I took possession of her when she was 6 months old.  One month later, we spent a successful week hunting in NE Montana. She is unbelievably birdy and lives to get feathers in her mouth. During our first hunting trip, Xena  found and retrieved Sharptail grouse, Hungarian Partridge, Pheasants and Ducks. At the beginning of every hunt, Xena takes a moment and surveys all of her surroundings deciding how she wants to proceed. I have never owned a dog that I could observe thinking out situations like she does.

In 2015, Xena and I went to Saskatchewan waterfowl hunting.  At 19 months old, she absolutely adores retrieving ducks and geese! During our 2 hours in the decoy spread, Xena ran over 13 miles and retrieved many ducks and geese, always wanting to do more. While we were picking up the spread she continued searching and found multiple ducks that we wouldn’t have found without her. We also went to the Dakotas pheasant hunting. (Note: in one of her pictures she plowed grass until her face was bloody from grass abrasions). She doesn’t have a quit button and simply is a tried and true hunting machine.

I took possession of Blaze when he was approximately 18 months old.  We have just completed our second hunting season and what a difference a year makes. Blaze is a dog that will give you 110% everyday in every situation. We hunted Canada and the USA in 2014, hunting many species of upland birds and waterfowl. Blaze is high powered and always ready for another adventure.

Zena and Blaze have a high prey drive and excel in the field and marsh. The puppies will be best situated in serious hunting households; they will require lots of attention and exercise.
I will be giving preference to members of the VHDF and NAVDHA.  A VHDF membership will be included with each puppy from this litter. I am hoping to have multiple puppies tested from this litter and will being asking new owners to get involved with VHDF or NAVDHA. The parents of this litter have been tested in VHDF.  I am also very happy with the database information regarding the parents of both dogs.  

Xena and Blaze are full-time house dogs and are house broken. They are good citizens and behave accordingly. Blaze and Xena do have a weakness for being bed hogs and leaving me no room...
